Hi loves,
It’s a new year which always means a closet clean out is most likely scheduled in your calendar. And like always, you’ll find pieces in your wardrobe you totally forgot you had. Guilty! I bought this strip two piece early fall to wear my birthday weekend. And what happened to this stripe two piece? It got put in the back of the closet and I totally forgot I even had it. So what do I do with this sleeveless two piece set now? Put it in my summer wardrobe? There is always an exception to every rule!
I am a true believer in maximizing your wardrobe as much as possible! Creating as many outfits as your brain is capable of. Mixing different pieces, color, prints. So I got creative and decided to think of different ways to wear this chic two piece set other than waiting for the warmer weather to arrive. Which got me thinking of creating a list of ways to winterize your summer wardrobe 🙂 Because not every summer piece should be packed away. There are some pieces we simply love too much!
Add Layers
Add turtlenecks, tees, sweaters to any sleeveless top or dresses to create a cozy layer look. Adding layers makes you look trendy and classy. You’ll look like a total fashion blogger babe.
Top It With Outer Layers
Add fun, colorful coats or even some statement jackets to finish your look. Faux fur or even sherpa lining coats instantly creates a winterize look to any of your summer pieces.
Wear Them With Winter Footwear
What is winter without boots? I know I’m not the only one that gets excited when the weather drops and it finally feels like appropriate to wear boots. My favorite boots to wear with any summer item are tall boots. Besides the fact part of me feels like a total badass every single time I am wearing them. But they literally transform your look.
Pile on Your Winter Accessories
Gloves, scarfs, hats, and even tights should not be forgotten when you’re thinking of how to create different outfits this season. Easy peasy lemon squeezy!
What are some ways you winterize your summer wardrobe? Or do you only wear your summer wardrobe during that season?
There you go! A small, but useful list you can keep in mind when creating looks this winter. Just because you bought a summer item on clearance in December, doesn’t mean you have to wait to wear it. If I were to be honest… I get a little impatient seeing an item with tags just hanging out in my closet 😉

Your pink coat is simply amazing and with those faux fur sleeves, it just can’t get any better. These are great tips for making use of summer staples during the winter months. I know that personally sweaters are all about winter but dresses can work too. We just got to improvise! Happy Wednesday Melissa and I hope your week is off to a great start.

You absolutely right girl! Winter is too long and I don’t know about you but I get bored after a few months of my winter wardrobe.

I love your pink coat, and those boots are fab! I get impatient waiting for the right time/weather to wear something too, so I like to layer when I can to get the most wear out of my clothes. Tights, boots and a thin sweater can transform an outfit for colder weather. Thanks for linking up!
