Hi loves,
It’s the season to shop until you drop, am I right? There are deals left and right, making shopping for holiday gifts a bit more exciting. But let’s not forget to shop small this season. Obviously shopping isn’t something I struggle with! My husband would say I have a PhD in shopping. I love to shop!! As much as I love shopping big department stores, I never forget about the little shops. The mom and pop places. I grew up with entrepreneurs in the family and saw first hand all the struggles and rewards of being your own boss (check post here). There is nothing like the experiences you get shopping small. With being a small business owner myself and small business Saturday being tomorrow, I figured why not share what shopping small means to me:

Shopping Small Means The World
When customers come in my shop, they chose me. They chose coming to my shop to find whatever its in their mind. I know you can buy dresses anywhere, yet they picked my place. And as small as that may seem, it means the world to me! They trust me enough to provide them with an experience to find something that reflects them and their style.

Giving Back to the Community
We pay taxes that help build our community. Our money doesn’t go to our yacht in the Caribbean, it literally goes right back to the community. To help pay for school, school functions, local enforcements, teachers, contribute to our households. You know exactly who it goes back to.

We Don’t Have One Title
We don’t sit in our fancy office miles away from the business and never getting our hands dirty. It’s the complete opposite. We are janitors, customer service employee, therapist, payroll handlers, shoppers, confidence builders, stylist. There isn’t a job in my business I don’t do or mind doing. I will clean windows in the cutest outfit and then model for pictures.

Shopping Small is an Experience
As mentioned, customers chose to come and shop with us. Which is why I give my 110%. We aren’t in business just to sell. We are here to provide you with one on one customer service. We don’t pressure you. We don’t sell you something that’s not you. We don’t tell you that dress looks beautiful, knowing it does nothing for your figure. We build relationships. We build trust. And we are as honest as they come. We want you to leave feeling that confidence you wanted all along! Our goal is to make you feel like a badass rocking an outfit that reflects who you and accentuate all the good stuff!!

Will you be shopping small this holiday season?
Sometimes we get asked how do we compete with amazon? And the answer is pretty simple, we don’t. I am an amazon prime lover at heart. If I’m being honest, it’s easy. We will never compete with them, because that’s not who we are. We provide so much more value that isn’t found there. We are simply two girls with a huge dream in our hearts, that strive to make a difference. To make an impact with our tribe. I would be lying if I didn’t say one day I hope to be bigger than what we are today. Even if its just 15%. And if our destiny is to be as big as them then great, but there is no use in competing with them. I will be fine competing with who we were yesterday and how we can become better!
Happy Friday loves! I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving!! Currently still dealing with my food coma from yesterday. I think this weekend calls for a little rest, enjoying spending quality time with the family and eating leftovers 😉 Enjoy your weekend,

I think it’s safe to say Portugal is in everyones bucket list, right?! Maureen from Little Miss Casual has a must have travel diary Portugal post. I swear I can feel the ocean breeze from here. Make sure you stop by and say hi 😉

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, Mel! I love all your outfits but my favorite is the dress with the poncho, so stylish!
I love shopping small as well, it makes me feel so much better than when I shop at the mall.

Great post, Mel! Small business owners certainly don’t do what they do to make a billion dollars. It is about the passion and the willingness to make others feel special! You look so great in all of these photos and I wish you lots of business this holiday season! I hope your Thanksgiving was filled with blessings, my freind.

Mel, I love what you do with your boutique and sharing your styling tips and helping women feel and look their best. Small business owners work harder than any other people I know! Rock on…may the shopping gods be shining upon you this holiday season and every season, my friend. Thanks for linking up.
