Hi loves,
If you’ve been a reader for a while, you know I am a rule or myth breaker when it comes to my style. Part is the little devious in me that hates pursuing silly rules and the other is because the fashion world is huge to be going around following myths. I am here to break all the myths about satin. I became such a fanatic with this fabric once I got this beautiful satin maxi. There isn’t a thing I don’t love about satin.

Myth: Satin is Expensive
Well, real satin is expensive. That part is absolutely true. But just like with any trend, the more popular they become, the more you see it everywhere. Which means, more brands are creating faux satin, to give you the same feel as the real shit for a cheaper price.

Myth: Wearing Satin Shows Every Bad Area
Not necessarily. It’s all about what type of styles you want to rock. If you’re worried about satin showing too much of the wrong areas, get pieces that are more flowy or go for a two piece set like I’m wearing.

Myth: Satin is Dry Clean Only
I normally don’t mind buying prices that are dry clean only. I believe in taking appropriate measurements to assure your wardrobe last as long as possible. When it comes to this trend, there are different types of look a like satin fabric. Most likely these faux items can be washed with regular clothes or even on a gentle cycle. Both cami bodysuit and paper bag pants I’m wearing can be put in a gentle cycle.

Myth: Satin is Tacky
This meth is all about your style. To each his own. Some may find it tacky. Others like myself can’t get enough. Satin is feminine, sensual, and sexy all in one. It also gives me all empowerment vibes wearing it!

What are some myths you’ve heard about satin?
Happy Friday babes! How was your halloween? The weather was actually pretty warm. The kids were able to wear their costume without a jacket, which is crazy for upstate NY. Any weekend plans? I will be doing some last minute shopping before our adult vacation next week to Puerto Rico! I am so excited to go. Can’t wait for the yummy food, the beach, and the opportunity to spend quality time with the hubby. Gotta get my planning hat in order 🙂 Have a great weekend,

This is a pretty outfit. I love the long length jacket.
Such great pants on you! It’s nice there are ways to get easy to care for satin like pieces – as a mum of two adorable little boys I try to pick machine washable things when shopping, haha!
Thank you for the link up!
Hope that your week is going well and you have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂
Love those satin pants with the tie waist. Beautiful color as well!
Mel, this outfit is fantastic! Silk and satin is our theme for November’s Good Buy/Good-Bye Book! I have lots of the fake stuff and I love it, too! This is such a great outfit. I love the colors you combined, too. We had terrible weather up here in Watertown last night. Pouring rain and aggressive winds, but it was nearly 70 degrees which is super warm for this time of year. The kids were out in droves even in the rain! Have a great weekend.

I love your outfit. The pants look gorgeous on you in that beautiful color and style! While I am not one to wear exciting clothes, I live by the motto to wear what makes us as individuals feel pretty, confident and comfortable, no matter what’s trending in fashion and what’s not! And we all are different and have different views and tastes in fashion which is a great things! I love all the variety I am seeing following fashion blogs!
We got about 3 inches of snow this Halloween and had not a single trick or treater!! Crazy weather in Illinois this year for sure!

I do not own any satin but like everything else I think it all depends on your style, the cut of the item… Your pants are a beautiful shade and look very classy!
