Weekend at the Lake

I can’t believe July 4 is right around the corner, wasn’t it just May? July 4th is one of my favorite holidays! I love the fireworks, grilling, the lake, and being able to spend time with my family. A family holiday. To celebrate the holiday, we usually end of spending a relaxing day at the lake and then going downtown to catch the fireworks. I am that girl who usually carries her entire home in the bag. Its like a magic bag… tissue, makeup (which I end up using like never), medicine, toothbrush, receipts from about 3 years ago, the list goes on and on. It’s always nice to prep a bag with just essentials, specially if its for a weekend of relaxation.

Of course I have to dress patriotic 🙂 I usually like to add a few piece that has red, white, and blue without looking cheesy. What better piece than our 4th of July beach tote! Love the anchor and the stripes!! It will make a great bag with a netural outfit.

As much as I love wearing white, it wasn’t until last year that I bought myself my first white bathing suit. I guess I never found a white bikini I loved. Plus, I’m all about the lace up trend, specially in the summer time!

I am usually not a hat person. To me, not everyone can rock one and I am not part of that club. Even though I love them, I just feel like I look like a complete different person wearing one. But there are no rules when your spending your weekend at the lake. You will have face free makeup and crazy hair. A summer hat can make you appear as if you had it together. I couldn’t resist when I spotted this summer hat in TJ Maxx. It is honestly the cutest thing ever, plus it was under $25!!

A relaxation weekend requires a good book. As much as I enjoy reading, sometimes having that “me time” is impossible! Gateways for me involved reading a few chapters. I just started reading My Husbands Wife and I am hooked!

We can’t leave essentials items out like sunscreen and a lip balm. I’ve talked bout how much I love this Neutrogena sunscreen last year and it’s still a fav! Not greasy, mild scent, and it does a great job at protecting your skin.
