Hi loves,
I am a true believer in age is just a number. Normally you can’t tell me something is either too young or too mature for me. I make things work for me and create my own style. But as confident I am with fashion (for the most part), there are times certain items may defeat that thought. A plaid skirt was one of them. Can I or should I wear a plaid skirts in my 30’s?
Every single time I think of a plaid skirt, I automatically think of clueless. Cher rocked a plaid skirt like no other, but styling this skirt like a school girl isn’t me. It doesn’t go with who I am nor my lifestyle. And even though I am sure there are a ton of different ways to style a plaid skirt in your 30’s, I just couldn’t think of another way. So what’s one to do? Play a little dressed up and see what can come up with. How can I wear this skirt that wouldn’t make me feel juvenile? A chambray, ruffle sleeve top went perfect with my plaid skirt. Gives it more of a sophisticated look, tying everything nicely together.
I added a mojo jacket to layer this look with and my favorite heels at the moment. I am sure you have seen these shoes plenty of times here and on instagram, I just can’t help it. They are so comfortable, stylish, and go with everything. I finished my look with a structure white bag and bold statement earrings.
My plaid skirt is unfortunately sold-out, but I’ve link great options under $70 you’ll love! These are my favorites:
Would you wear a plaid skirt in your 30’s? Do you ever feel intimated to wear an item because it appears too young or mature for you?
Happy Friday! What are your weekend plans? I have a lot of work to catch up on, but all I want to do is snuggle in my couch with leftover halloween candy and hallmark or lifetime channel on. I need to figure out a good balance! Enjoy your weekend,

Looking good lovely lady! Thank you for hosting and have a great weekend!
Funny but when I was a girl it was my mother’s generation who wore plaid/tartan skirts. I wasn’t aware that it was now associated with only mini skirts and youth! Love a bit of plaid and tartan and I think it looks fabulous whatever age. The light toned plaid, pale blue and camel is a lovely mix. Great choice!

You look great Melissa and you styled this plaid skirt beautifully. I agree that age doesn’t define what we wear. Happy Friday and wishing you a beautiful weekend ahead!
