A recent post I did last month, really made me want to conquer blogging for petite ladies a little more. What better way than to create a petite guide series. I’ve been jotting down some ideas and dusters quickly came to my mind. There’s so many fashionable pieces that we are always told (and sometimes its by us) how it just won’t go with our frame. And lately I’ve been all about breaking rules 😉
Duster’s are one of those pieces I just love, specially for fall. I find girls look so cozy and chic with dusters. While shopping for fall, I made sure to pick one up. I was ready to take up on the challenge, it’s time to put that rule to rest. I was so happy to find one in rose gold! What better outfit to match my rose gold duster? An all white fall look!
Somethings to consider when shopping for a duster when your petite
I wouldn’t go a few inches past the knee! As much as I love a super long duster, it will end up hitting us at an awarkard length… which will result in a more boxy look.
You guys know I love bright colors! But when considering buying a duster I would go for neutrals or light colors. I always think nude is a color that truly help us shorties by giving us more of a elongated look!
Go for a lighter duster! The extra fabric will make us look more bulky or boxy hiding our waistline. And you never want to hide your waistline, it defines us!
Get it Tailored
There was no way I was going to pass on this duster! When I bought it, it literally looked like a wedding dress 😉 I took 10 inches from the bottom and I am so happy with the outcome! If you find an inexpensive duster or one that you just love, take it to your local tailor shop. You’ll be surprise how little it cost to customize to your frame!
I kept the rest of my look neutral and light with simple accessories that I’ve been loving lately. All summer long I was all about statement earrings, now it’s all about statement rings. Obsessed with this beautiful coral cluster cocktail ring from Happiness Boutique! The pops of blue and coral is right up my alley. They have a ton of cute statement rings for a reasonable price (all under $25) and great quality! Use code momwithstyle to save 10 % on your next purchase 🙂
It’s been a while since I’ve shown any of my necklaces some love. A little bit of layering necklaces will flow just right with this outfit (links down below). Unfortunately my earrings didn’t show so great in these pics, but guys they are just beautiful! Simple, yet elegant and can I just say… they go prefectly with my rose gold duster! Finished the look with my brown belt and bag, along with a pair of tassel booties!!
What is one item of clothing you have a hard time dressing for your frame?
This week flew right by! The kids started school on Tuesday and I was hoping life will go back to normal, instead I find myself going crazy? Am I the only parent that feels this way? Literally feel like I am chasing my tail!!
