I don’t know about you, but I am very particular with matching colors. We all know there are some colors you can play around with, like cobalt blue, you can match cooler or warm tones with it. Now, there are colors to me that are simply cool tone colors and I will only pair it with sliver jewelry. Am I the only one? Maybe I’m too black & white, but olive and grey just doesn’t match. This will kinda mess up with pairing jewelry. One fashion rule is to always match your jewelry depending on the color tone of your outfit. Olive colors go with gold jewelry and grey with sliver…
My Stitch Fix box last month contained this cute olive button down and I am all about it! I was already thinking of wearing this top with dark blue skinnies, a pair of tall brown boots and some gold jewelry. But my Stitch Fix stylist suggested I were this top with a pair of grey booties, I literally thought she was crazy until I gave it a go! Instead of booties I went for my over the knee grey boots, surprisingly I now love this look! I wore it to dinner with the hubby and seriously got so many compliments. Yay for my stylist 🙂 At the end of the day, some rules are sometimes meant to be broken, because fashion is about experimenting with styles and colors 😉
How do you feel about matching warm tone clothing with cool tone jewelry?
I have a really long weekend ahead of me. My house feels like its turn upside down and I really need to finish unpacking my stuff. I still don’t know where anything is and its causing such stress every morning finding clothes to wear. You know its bad when your wearing your mismatched sock plus borrowing your hubby’s PJ’s… not cute!! Have a great weekend guys,
