Hi loves,
It’s that time again, when a little blue box awaits for me at my doorstep, my February Stitch Fix try on haul. For this fix I asked my stylist to include a mix of items. We are going away on a family vacation for winter break to Hawaii and I am kinda late buying pieces to take with me. Whenever I am on vacation, I love wearing bright colors and prints. It just goes with the whole vibe. I also asked my stylist to also include some transitional spring pieces, because even though winter just started… I am basically over it. Who’s with me?
I’m sure everyone and their mother know about Stitch Fix, but it case you’re uncertain it’s a clothing subscription box. You can choose from women, men and even children clothing. You fill out a survey online detailing your style, sizes, what you like or dislike. How often you receive a fix, is totally up to you. You can get them monthly, every two weeks, quarterly. You pay a $20 styling fee upfront that can be used towards your purchase. A stylist will then pick 5 items depending on your profile. Once you receive your fix, you have a couple of days to try on and decide what you’ll like to keep and send everything you didn’t like back in a prepaid shipping bag. If there is something you love, but the size was off, they also offer exchanges. It’s that simple, my friends!

Fortune + Ivy – Chiya Lace Scalloped Halter Blouse
Red is such a bold color I love wearing. It goes well with my skin tone and its the perfect statement piece to add to your wardrobe. This halter blouse has scalloped details on sides and a beautiful floral lace. My stylist suggest it will be a perfect piece to add to my travel wardrobe. It’s a pretty blouse overall, it’s just not my style. It’s not special, which is what I look for in a clothing subscription. I feel it will look awesome on someone with a smaller chest and perhaps I longer torso. This one is a no for me.

Just Black – Sean Distressed Frayed Hem Straight Leg Jean
I’m not going to lie when I first saw the picture of these jeans, I had already made up my mind this wasn’t going to work for me. That’s to prove that sometimes you simply need to try pieces on! Mom jeans has been my go to lately. I keep adding more and more styles to my wardrobe and I am loving it! All of my mom jeans are distressed and I need a clean pair to add. Just Black denim is one of my favorites. They have great stretch and are very well made. Most definitely keeping them!

Liverpool – Heidi Printed Skinny Pant
One of the items I asked to receive in this fix are the Spandex Camo leggings. I thought they would be a great item to travel with for my winter vacation. My stylist send over these printed skinny pants instead. But I am having a bit of a problem with them. For one they look identical to the pair I kept in my December Stitch Fix. Also, this isn’t what I though about when looking for leggings to travel with. This pair seems a lot more dressier than what I am looking for. These printed skinny pants are going back.

Lush – Tamara Cropped Knot Front Knit
Stripes? Absolutely. While switching closets I realized I don’t even own a stripe top… which is crazy. This is an absolute must have print for spring. This lush top is cropped style which would be perfect to wear with high waist shorts for my vacation. The material is very breathable and has great stretch! Mama is adding this to her closet 😉

Mia – Gregg Heeled Bootie
If you know me I am a shoe addict! Its bittersweet when Stitch Fix sends me shoes. I think I have kept every pair they have sent… don’t tell the hubby! These olive booties are well made, but guys so uncomfortable. They hit in a weird spot on your ankle where every time you walk it hurts. I don’t think sizing up will make it any better. And as much as I love shoes, keeping these and never wanting to wear them isn’t my thing!
Which item you think I should keep or send back?
Happy Friday loves! If you didn’t catch my instagram stories, my closet is 98% done! It may seem so silly to some, but I’ve wanted a closet like my entire life. Part of me wants to start diving in and getting it organized, but with our vacation coming up next week, mama needs to tackle last minute to do’s before we leave. Which includes packing. I kinda like that the kids are a bit older where they can semi pack themselves, which leaves me to do a “quick inspection” making sure they remember important things. Hope you enjoy the weekend loves,

One of my favorite types of blog post are save vs splurge! Kim from Champagneista has some many goodies in her recent post. I mean look at those sneakers!! Make sure you stop by and say hi 😉

Red does look super cute on you but I totally get that it is a fairly simple top. The stripped tee is so cute and I love the little front detail, and also I am loving all the high-rise jeans. So easy for this mama to pull off 🙂 . Vacation sounds amazing, especially when it includes the beach. Happy packing.

the striped tee is definitely a keeper, the twist front is a cute detail and I can’t imagine a wardrobe without stripes!
Thanks for the link up!
Hope that your week is going well and you have a nice weekend ahead of you 🙂
All of these pieces are so pretty and look amazing on you! I love that red lace top!!

I love the red top, the jeans, and the boots.
I’m really loving the red top and jeans outfit! The striped top looks like a great one too and definitely more wearable than the red top, so it’s understandable why you decided to keep it and not the red top.
Thanks for hosting the linkup, and enjoy your Hawaii vacation!

Great pieces, Mel! And what a bummer about those booties. They are adorable and I love the color. But really there is no point taking up valuable closet space if you won’t wear them.
