Hi loves,
How much I love a monochromatic look? Well, a lot (checkout blog post here and here)! I always find them fun and easy to create. This winter wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t share my monochromatic look I’ve been wearing lately. And to my surprise I went for the color black. I talked a lot about my wardrobe and everything that it consist of. Some of you are shocked when I mentioned my super small section in my closet that has black clothing. I don’t really gravitate towards black, but something has been changing in me, that I am starting to incorporate black to my looks. I think that is the fun thing about fashion, your style is always evolving. Style, patterns, or even colors you never thought you would love, over time you end up being obsessed with!

If I’m going to create any monochromatic look, I always think of textures. Adding different textures is how you slay this look! Especially when it comes to black. Of course I had fun with this look and added lace, leather, and some fur. But first I have to talk about these great black high waist skinny jeans I seem to be wearing at least twice a week. I first talked about them in my thanksgiving lookbook. The stretch in these jeans is awesome. They aren’t too stretchy that half way through the day they end up feeling like boyfriend jeans. I can’t stand wearing jeans and every single time I get up, mama has to pull them up, back to where they should. These black skinny jeans feels like you’re wearing leggings #yass If your in the market for some high-waist jeans these are it! And they are currently on sale!!
Since I’m in the spirt of Valentine’s Day, I added some red to the mix with statement earrings and a printed handbag. Because if you know me well, a pop of color is the best way to finish any monochromatic look 😉

Happy Friday!! It’s been a super long week as we finally move out of our current store. And as much as I am exciting for the new beginnings in our new location, it wasn’t until it was completely empty that I realized how hard it was to leave it. It’s like the feeling when you get your first place. All the work you put into making that your home. Even if you were leaving it for a even better home, seeing it for the last time definitely brings up so many memories. I just hope and pray, this new location can be even better with even greater memories!! Have a lovely weekend babes,

I’ve been the same. I’ve worn more black this past year, but overall I really don’t wear a lot of black. Love the touches of red.
hahaha isn’t it funny! I’m getting more into it I have to say.

You look super sassy, sexy, and badass in this all black outfit, Mel! I love the combination of textures that you have incorporated. Those earrings and your shoes are so fabulous! And leather and lace together is always a winner in my big book of style!

Its all about adding different textures to slay this look rather than looking like you’re wearing a uniform. And yes leather and lace is the best combo everrr. You always rock it like a rockstar Shelbee!

I’ve never actually tried a monochromatic look (controversial, I know) but I always love to mix colours and patterns and textures, it just never crossed my mind but I’ve been seeing a lot of people do it so I might actually try it and I’m gonna follow your advice of mixing textures, it looks really nice.
You have to Marta! I swear once you try a monochromatic look you won’t stop rocking them! Mixing textures and fabric is key

An all black outfit is my go to when I can’t think of what to wear. Surprisingly, this happens more often than not. Adding texture and color are my two favorite ways of breaking up the look. Love your earrings! So fun. Moving is always so bittersweet but I am glad to hear that your move was successful. Happy weekend Melissa!
