Hi loves,
Fall and plaid literally go hand in hand! As soon as I see those leaves turning yellow, I automatically go for my plaid shirts. I usually style my plaid tops really casual with jeans and booties, but never went for a more dressier look. This is because to me plaid equals causal wear! I picked this beautiful and super soft plaid shirt from American Eagle to dress up. I love the red and mauve colors mixed in this shirt. They are probably two of my favorite color for this season.
To make my plaid shirt more dressy I went with a skirt rather than jeans or pants. Originally I was going to go for a pencil or leather skirt, but went for this knot skirt instead. I’ve had this skirt in my wardrobe (similar picks down below) for about 3 years and have only worn it once, not because I don’t like it, I just totally forget about it. Olive and mauve/red colors is a big trend for fall and I am happy I was able to style them together in this outfit. I finished the look with some cool sunnies and rose gold jewelry.
What is your favorite way to style a plaid shirt? Do you go for the casual or dressy look?
I honestly have been feeling a little down with all the horrible weather that has impact the south. I feel a little guilty about posting anything on social media or even blogging because what I am talking about here isn’t no where near as important as what people are going through. Harvey and Irma has not only impact a ton of people, but also people in my family. Thank god they are safe and sound, but to know many people lost so much hit me hard.
After some praying and taking some time off mentally, I have realized, that me feeling down isn’t helping anyone. I’m not changing anything or making anything better. If I were in their shoes, I would want a distraction, something to lift my sprits. If posting here or on my social media channels makes someones day, because its a few minutes escaping their reality then thats what I should be concentrating on. On that note, I would love know about any hurricane organizations that your supporting! Please leave them on the comments down below 🙂
Have a great weekend,
