Am I confident in every aspect of my life? Nope! We all have complejo as we say in Spanish, because the truth is we are our worst critics. We can criticize ourself in seconds. I’m a horrible cook. I sometimes lack patiences. My list can go on and on. But sometimes we have that confidence in areas like a boss. If I had to pick one area in my life where my confidence is off the roof… is in my style. Girl, I have the best confidence wearing something I love. Shoot, I may even walk around as if I’m all that and a bag of chips!! How to gain confidence in your style? Not such a easy question to answer, but here are my 6 tips to gain confidence in your style
Learn Your Body
Figure out what works for your body and what doesn’t. This takes time and it’s an never-ending process, but it’s key to building confidence with your style. Not everything works for everyone. Find out what goes with your body and frame.
Your Style Has Unique Components
I love white. I love bold colors. I love bold prints. I like a fresh, crisp look. This is me. Fashion is huge and everyone has their own unique fashion sense. Take a good look at your wardrobe or those pieces you always gravitate towards and see what’s your style.
When you Feel Good in an Outfit, Everyone Sees it
This is where confidence sets in. When we love what we are wearing, this inner fierce chick comes out.
Get Dressed For You
Wear what you like. Wear what makes you feel good. We are made to think we’re suppose to please everyone. That’s not the case. Get dressed for yourself. Not your man, your friends, your family.
Fashion is about trying new styles you. I always find the pieces we dislike without trying on, tends to be the pieces we end up loving the most. Once upon a time disliked floral without giving it a try. Now I can’t see a floral dress I don’t like.
Haters gonna hate. You’re always going to find people that dislike what you are wearing. Thats fine. We all have different opinions. You should see how many odd stares I get when I’m rocking an all white look! Will that change how I dress? Will it change my confidence in my style? Nope. First, I’m dressing myself… for me. I like what I wear. My style defines who I am as a person. It describe my personality. I’m not dressing to please everyone. Just me!
